On the occasion of the release of the new Indiana Jones film, Disney + welcomes the complete feature films of the saga from May 31. Discover here the other surprises planned on the streaming platform throughout the month of June, starting with the new Marvel series: Secret Invasion.

Secret Invasion

Imminent launch for the latest creation from Marvel Studios! The new series Secret Invasion lands June 21 on Disney+ and must be broadcast at the rate of one new episode per week. Set shortly after the events of the film Avengers: Endgamethe story of Secret Invasion is based on that of the original comics and refocuses on the character of Nick Fury, the former director of SHIELD. Still played on screen by the essential Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Fury must brutally interrupt a space mission to join his allies in order to prevent a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls from invading Earth. Presented as a spy thriller, this new series should skillfully stand out from other Marvel productions by offering a real race against time for Nick Furybut also for his allies Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos.

Directed by Ali Selim, the series Secret Invasion will have 6 episodes and will fit directly into the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Holy X

While the police declare the death of Alison Thomas as accidental, her relatives wonder about what really happened to the young woman one summer evening. Directly adapted from the novel by Alexis Schaitkin, Holy X is a new Disney+ original series to discover from June 7. Convinced that her sister has been murdered, Emily will try to trace the thread of events in the heart of the Caribbean, in a falsely idyllic setting that no longer looks like a nice vacation trip. But by seeking the truth at all costs, doesn’t the young woman in search of answers risk becoming the target of mysterious attackers in her turn? The series will have 8 episodes and will be reserved for an informed public (16+). “All truth is hidden. Every lie has an alibi”… This psychological drama directed by Dee Rees (Mudbound) features actress Alycia Debnam-Carey (fear the walking dead) in the lead role for a total of 8 episodes.

Stan Lee

We stay in the Marvel galaxy with a tribute film to one of the greatest comic book creators of all time, who died in 2018. Forever inseparable from the Marvel universe, Stan Lee has become over the years one of the most influential figures in pop culture. This atypical and passionate individual deserved director David Gelb retraces his story in a feature film based on a large number of personal archives in order to stay closer to reality. Recommended for anyone with a keen interest in behind-the-scenes Marvel superheroes, this film simply titled ” Stan Lee should allow us to better understand the personality of this man not really like the others by looking back on his incredible journey. We can expect many interviews and audio recordings to retrace the history of the man who has done so much for the emancipation of American comics. This new documentary will be available from June 16 in the Disney+ catalog.

Nightmare Alley

Nightmare Alley, the film noir directed by Guillermo del Toro in 2021, is expected on Disney+ on June 23. It brings together a cast of renowned actors, starting with Bradley Cooper, Toni Collette and Cate Blanchett, but also Willem Dafoe, Rooney Mara and Ron Perlman. The screenplay is adapted from the novel The Charlatan, written by William Lindsay Gresham in 1946, and follows the shenanigans of a charismatic man in search of fortune. After currying favor with a psychic at a traveling fair, Stanton Carlisle (Bradley Cooper) hatches a devious plan to rip off New York’s society elite of the 1940s. Supported by the mysterious Molly (Rooney Mara), our man will try to aim even higher by attacking wealthy individuals much more dangerous and ill-intentioned than him. Head over to Disney+ on June 23 to catch a film noir classic if you missed it in theaters.

great expectations

Inspired by Charles Dickens’ famous novel, the mini series great expectations proposes to revisit and modernize a decidedly timeless story. Scheduled from June 28, it will have 6 episodes directed by Brady Hood and Samira Rads. Through the eyes of Pip, an orphan who dreams of a better life, the difficulties of coming of age are expressed in the background by the main actors Olivia Colman, Fionn Whitehead and Owen McDonnell. In contact with the eccentric and disreputable Miss Havisham, the young man will discover a new horizon woven with dark possibilities which he does not know if he should resist or not. Between twists of fate and Machiavellian machinations, this new series will put the protagonist face to face with crucial choices. Should he be part of this world at all costs or else look elsewhere for the deep nature of who he really wants to become?

From June 14, fans of historical stories will be able to discover the four seasons that make up the series entitled Hitler’s Last Battle on Disney+. It is pay homage to the desperate battles that were fought during World War II against the Nazis in order to liberate Europe from the occupation of Hitler’s troops. The series takes place during the days and weeks that followed June 6, 1944, when the landing of the Allies on the beaches of Normandy is about to change the course of history. But Nazi forces cling to naval bases, citadels and fortresses in occupied Europe, and the fighting promises to be deadly. The four seasons of Hitler’s Last Battle will be available to discover in full from June 14.
