The most expensive week of summer vacation 2023

There best period to make reservations would be at the official start of summer vacation 2023. The Kayak flight comparator revealed that the beginning of July is rather interesting in relation to the price of travel. Regarding the days of reservation, avoid Monday. Wednesday would be “quieter”.
According to the comparators Kayak and Liligo, the most expensive week of the summer would be the week of July 31. According to Kayak, the week of July 31 to August 6 is 47% more expensive than that of June 5 to 11. This period is also the second most searched week on Liligo.
The cheapest week of summer vacation 2023
According to comparators, plane tickets are less expensive during the first week of June. However, this is an off-season period when the children are still going to school. If your family really can’t go in the off-season, the month of July remains quite interesting.
Kayak data shows that the price of flights in July is cheaper than in August. However, you don’t have to wait until the end of July to avoid a bad price surprise. In a ranking carried out by Liligo for Capital, the last week of July is the second most expensive week.
In season, the least expensive weeks are those at the beginning of July and the 4th of August. So remember to book for the week of July 3 to 9 or August 21 to 27. Moreover, the first week of July is the most searched on Liligo.
Ranking of summer travel prices
Liligo has established a ranking of the weeks between July and August for which trips will be less expensive. This ranking is based on the prices of flights to the 10 most searched destinations on the site.
Unsurprisingly, the first week for which the average price for a round trip is the week of August 21-27. Indeed, the flight costs about 380 euros. The second cheapest week is July 3 to 9, with an average price of 451 euros.
The third is the week of August 14 to 10 with an average price of 454 euros. The week of July 10 to 16 comes next with return plane tickets which will cost around 491 euros. Prices start to increase in mid-July with 498 euros for the week of July 17 to 23.

Hotel prices during the summer holidays 2023
The dates are different for hotel reservations. According to Kayak, the price of a hotel room is at its highest during the ninth month of the year. Moreover, the second week of August will be the most expensive during the summer holidays.
Prices will be 22% higher than those during the week of May 29 to June 7. Kayak also recommends booking a Wednesday instead of a Friday for a hotel in Europe. Even if it is an overseas hotel, there won’t really be a big difference.
When planning your trips, you should keep in mind that the price of flights, to all destinations combined, has increased. You must therefore anticipate the effects of inflation when deciding on the budget for your summer vacation.
According to Kayak, the increase in air ticket prices could be 28% on average. That of the cost of hotel rooms would be 11% more expensive than in summer 2022.
