Up to €10,000 in discounts at MG for 7 days, what's next?

Until March 30, MG is offering generous electric bonuses on its 100% electric models without Bonus.

MG has achieved a diabolical breakthrough in France thanks to three electric models. The MG4 sedan, the MG5 station wagon and the Marvel R SUV. Three models with nice looks, impeccable finishing, and above all offered at unbeatable prices. In a completely crazy automobile market, you have to look good and look good, but above all not expensive.

Disaster last December 15 when these three models lost the generous Ecological Bonus. We wondered for a moment if MG could recover from this sanction, but the Sino-British manufacturer was quick to react with an unstoppable weapon, very generous discounts!

First generalized at 5,000 euros for all electrified models, this premium has since continued to evolve. Here is what the manufacturer is offering you for the month of March 2024.

Three MGs, three levels

Let's start with the 2023 sales queen, the MG4. It is she who logically inherits the smallest discount with 5,000 euros off. A sedan with a reasonable size, far from inflation in terms of dimensions, this is what the MG4 has been forced to achieve. It is positioned just under 4.30 meters, or 4.29 meters exactly, and benefits from a good turning radius which allows it to slip through town and especially to park. The advantage of the electric MG4 is to offer a real range from its launch, including the famous Standard 51 kWh entry version with 170 hp. But also a more high-end model with 204 hp and 250 Nm of torque with a 64 kWh battery. Paradoxical, but the smaller model has better performance. And for good reason, its weight lower by around 30 kg compensates for the power deficit, especially since the torque is identical to the 204 hp version. Acceleration is at a high level (0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds) and acceleration is also high.

For the MG5, it will be 7,000 euros removed from the bill. This electric station wagon measures 4.6 meters long, 1.82 meters wide and 1.52 meters high. This vehicle is therefore comparable to a Peugeot 308 SW or a Renault Mégane Estate in terms of dimensions. As for trunk volume, MG announces 479 liters with the bench seat in place, and 1,367 liters when the latter is folded down. The lines of the MG5 are balanced but lack fantasy in the eyes of some. Two versions coexist in the MG5 range. The first has a 50.3 kWh battery, which powers a 130 kW motor and 260 Nm of torque. The Extended Autonomy model has a 61.1 kWh battery. The torque remains at 280 Nm but the engine power drops to 115 kW, without this having any significant impact on performance. Regardless of the version chosen, the Chinese electric station wagon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 185 km.

The Marvel R does even better with a 10,000 euro discount, or almost a quarter of its price. It only concerns certain new vehicles already in stock. The MG Marvel R is a well-made electric SUV. It measures 4.67 meters in length, 1.92 meters in width and 1.62 meters in height for a wheelbase of 2.8 meters. The trunk of the MG electric SUV offers a volume of 357 liters which can be extended to 1,396 liters once the rear seat is folded down. With a three-motor configuration, the Marvel R enters the very exclusive club of three-motor models. In its all-wheel drive configuration, it has 212 kW of power (288 hp) and a torque of up to 665 Nm. Enough to reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The Marvel R is also available in a propulsion version. In this configuration, two electric motors are integrated into the rear axle and combine 180 horsepower. 0 to 100 km/h takes longer (7.9 seconds) and the maximum speed also reaches 200 km/h. The range of the MG Marvel R is 400 km according to the manufacturer in the WLTP mixed cycle. In reality it is closer to 370 km maximum on a single charge.
