Peugeot e-5008: “Seven in a 100% electric SUV”, just like at home

Almost like the TV series from the 1990s and 2000s, Seven at home, Peugeot presents its 100% electric 7-seater SUV. The new Peugeot e-5008 can thus, still within the framework of the “Lion family”, be considered the “big brother” of the Peugeot e-3008. Like the latter, the Peugeot e-5008 will be marketed in different 100% electric engines, knowing that 5008s with micro-hybridization and PHEV plug-in hybrid are also on the program for the large French SUV.

The new 100% electric 7-seater SUV Peugeot e-5008 logically takes over the platform STLA Medium multi-energy from the Stellantis group, this technical base having been used, for the first time, on the very latest generation of the 3008. With 4.79 m long, 1.89 m wide and 1.69 m high, the new 100% electric SUV e-5008 imposes itself in terms of size, knowing that it is 14 cm longer compared to the current model. As for thewheelbase of 2.90 m of the e-5008 and other versions, it is consistent for maximum habitability at seven.

Design level, for the front part of the Peugeot e-5008, nothing changes compared to the e-3008. So let's focus on the rear part of the large 100% electric Peugeot SUV. To offer a certain visual dynamism to its new 7-seater, the Peugeot DNA team worked on the rear quarter panels and pillars of the e-3008.

We note that the 100% electric 7-seater SUV integrates inclined elements with a glossy finish, this between the rear side glass surfaces and the rear windshield. Lower down, the rear wings are slightly raised, while, much higher up, a roof spoiler becomes one with other black elements with taut lines. Of course, we find, on the Peugeot e-5008, the 3 luminous claws on the back always with a black strip which joins the two lights. It is therefore in the rear seats that everything changes, for the 100% electric 7-seater SUV e-5008 with a third row of seats which is not removable, which is the case on the current 5008. However, the second and third rows of seats can form, once folded, a so-called “flat” floor. Please note, for maximum practicality and modularity, that there second row of seats and therefore foldable into several configurations per seat (60/40 bench seat – 40/20/40 backrests), but also sliding and reclining.
